Though this year is very sad in terms of disasters that has struck our country and countrymen, yet still we have much to celebrate and be thankful for. Every year on 14th August, we wear flag badges, adorn our houses with jhandis, adorn our buildings with lights and sing national songs. This year, however let us add to that and promise to change ourselves and our society for the better. Please use this thread to post all the things that you will from now on promise to do yourself and wish that every Pakistani did too. Also, if you have any message that you would like to give your fellow Pakistanis, please feel free to utilize this thread.
Messages from fellow Systemers:
I am Shaheen Ahmed Khan and I want to say...
When I meet ambitious people, following their dreams,
When I find happy faces around me, enjoying every moment of life,
When I see innocent children playing and making us laugh,
When I feel the warmth of my new born nephew,
Then I realize, how beautiful life is!
I want to live it, infact...we ALL want to live it!
However, the fear of bomb blasts and riots in my beloved country, cause me to ask myself, every morning when I leave home, that, will I be able to see my loved ones again? I request those people and their favorers, who think that they have the right to take people’s lives , please let us follow our dreams, please allow us to be happy, please allow our children to play and grow in a fear free environment, please live and let others live!
As life is meaningful and beautiful!
A very happy Independence Day to all!
May it bring independence from fear too.
I am Yasir Siddiqui and I want to say...

I am Danish Mustafa and I want to say...
Watan Say Hum Hain, Watan Hai Hum Say, Khayal Rakhna
Chaloo Mila Kar Kadam Kadam Say, Khayal Rakhna
Chaloo Mila Kar Kadam Kadam Say, Khayal Rakhna
Let me start with quoting Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s first few sentences of his speech delivered on August 15, 1947 delivered to Pakistani nation,
“It is with feelings of greatest happiness and emotion that I send you my greetings. August 15 is the birthday of the independent and sovereign State of Pakistan. It marks the fulfillment of the destiny of the Muslim nation which made great sacrifices in the past few years to have its homeland.
At this supreme moment my thoughts are with those valiant fighters in our cause. Pakistan will remain grateful to them and cherish the memory of those who are no more.
The creation of the new State has placed a tremendous responsibility on the citizens of Pakistan. It gives them an opportunity to demonstrate to the world how can a nation, containing many elements, live in peace and amity and work for the betterment of all its citizens, irrespective of caste or creed.”
Dear Pakistanis,
Let me use this opportunity to congratulate you on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Independence Day of Pakistan.
14th August is here again, the day we got independence, independence to make our own decisions, independence to live our lives as we want to, independence to prosper, independence to rise as the greatest nation.
14th august is the day to reiterate the promise that we made to our home land to do our best to serve Pakistan and its people. This day demands us to think what we did for our nation and what we can do. We as nation and as individual have the responsibility to work for the betterment of Pakistan and Pakistanis. As rightly said by Quaid-e-Azam, Pakistan and Pakistanis have lots of potential and resources to be a great nation and prosper.
On this occasion of celebration, we are in real trouble as whole Pakistan is in real catastrophic conditions; Flood around the country has claimed hundreds of lives and leaving millions of our people homeless. As per statement issued by United Nations, The flood in Pakistan has affected more people than Indian Ocean Tsunami did in 2004.
This testing time demand us to stand up and show the world that we are an independent nation, we are a brave nation who can fight the problems and emerge as a winner, it is the time to help our own brother and sister.
What the time demanding us is recognizing our responsibilities towards this great nation, we need to think what we have and what we can do. What I think WE as a nation lack awareness, and awareness comes from the people who think and strive for betterment. We struggle very hard to earn independence; we have not got it in charity. When we started in 1947 we have vision and a direction, somehow it is lost and we are derailed from the track. It is the time to regroup and take up that vision and direction and we have this responsibility. Let’s play our part; we have many areas to work on like Education, Health, Social Awareness, and research sciences. Let’s get together to put up some ideas for Pakistan and people of Pakistan.
Helping people by giving away charitable do not have any impact, it makes them beggars. Help them in a way so that they don’t need help for the next time should be our Moto.
HELP to make HELPING HANDS!
Let me end with...
Ye zameen muqaddas hai, maan ke pyar kee soorat,
Iss chaman mein tum sab ho, barq-o-bar kee soorat,
Dekhna gawana mut,
Dolat-e-yaqeen logon,
Ye watan amanat hai, aur tum ameen logon.
Iss chaman mein tum sab ho, barq-o-bar kee soorat,
Dekhna gawana mut,
Dolat-e-yaqeen logon,
Ye watan amanat hai, aur tum ameen logon.
I am Danish Ali and I just want to say...
Do not just Point Out the Mistake, but try to Correct the Mistake!
I am Musharraf Amir and I want to suggest that...
We should focus on seeking Allah’s forgiveness so that we might receive His mercy. With all our help and troubleshooting efforts, we should also be seeking forgiveness as Allah says, “Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allah that you may receive mercy?’” [An-Naml: 46]
I want to share following thoughts..
This is the day,
That Our nation sings
This is the day
That the liberty bell starts to ring
This is the day
We all start to remember
What We stand for
And to celebrate our Independence
We stand up high, as We
All start to cry
As we think about,
All that died
For you, for me, for our whole country
Risking their life
Each & everyday here is a salute
To all that lay ...
That Our nation sings
This is the day
That the liberty bell starts to ring
This is the day
We all start to remember
What We stand for
And to celebrate our Independence
We stand up high, as We
All start to cry
As we think about,
All that died
For you, for me, for our whole country
Risking their life
Each & everyday here is a salute
To all that lay ...
Happy Independence Day! :)
I am Muhammad Ali Khan and my message is....
We should be united, have faith and be disciplined in order to help our fellow Pakistanis & to raise the morale of our beloved homeland,…….. Pakistan Zindabaad!!!
I am Nasreen Shehzad and I want to say..
Be Pakistani, Buy Pakistani and Be proud to be a Pakistani. It is our land and our sole identity, we can get lavish and comfortable life somewhere abroad but we can never have the feeling of pride and this is the major difference between ‘pardes’ and ‘apna des’ so we should all be proud of our nation and should step forward to help our fellow men especially the flood victims. Please come forward and play your part. God Bless us all!
I am Sabiha Essa Khan and I am proud to be a Pakistani….
My message for my Countrymen…
Our country is going through testing times; times which are perhaps as grave as was witnessed by our forefathers in 1947. All we can see today is terrorism, lawlessness, inflation, joblessness and natural calamities; at times it does feel that our death angel is doing some sort of overtime in our sacred land of Pakistan. No doubt, we are in trouble but there is one source which everyday keeps us moving and progressing in our own ways of life and that’s HOPE. As they say, Hope sustains the world, its actually sustaining us, and the millions of our brothers and sisters who are on the ground facing and fighting the battle of life. Lets carry forward this spirit of hope and bring light of love, compassion, togetherness and peace in the lives of each other…lets not just talk, but act in some positive ways to see what we complaint for and miss around us…. lets join hands to do whatever we can to make this land what it truly deserves to be…let us try to spread this power of positive energy and hope which can be our only salvation and inspiration to stay strong and steadfast at this time….
God bless Pakistan…Long live Pakistan!
I am Kashif Iqbal and here is my view on this 14th August...
